In the same specification family, according to the configuration of vCPU and memory, it can be divided into multiple different specifications. Different instance specifications have different configurations such as vCPU and memory, including physical CPU model and main frequency. Windows Server mirroring requires the instance size to be no less than 512MiB of memory. Among them, a vCPU represents a thread, and multiple threads can run on a physical CPU.

According to business scenarios and usage scenarios, ECS instances can be divided into multiple instance specification families. According to the configuration of CPU and memory, an instance type family is divided into multiple instance types.

 

ECS instance specifications define the basic attributes of the instance: CPU and memory (including CPU model, main frequency, etc.). However, only when ECS instances cooperate with block storage, mirroring, and network types at the same time, can the specific service form of an instance be uniquely determined.

 

Enterprise scenarios have high requirements for business stability. According to whether it is suitable for enterprise scenarios, instance type families can be divided into enterprise-level instance type families and shared instance type families. In an enterprise-level instance, each vCPU corresponds to the hyperthreading of an Intel ® Xeon ® processor core, which has the characteristics of stable performance and exclusive resources.

 

What is system storage

 
An ECS instance must contain a system disk to store the operating system and core configuration. The image is mainly used to initialize the system disk and determine the operating system and initial software configuration of the ECS instance. However, the system disk generally has a small capacity. If you need more storage options or space, you can increase the data disk.
 

Network Type

ECS instances distinguish network types, support classic network and private network VPC, VPC is recommended. The instance is in the same network, such as the same VPC, and can use the private network IP address to communicate through the intranet. If the instance needs to communicate with the public network, you can obtain the public network IP address to communicate with devices on the Internet.
