In comparison! Is there such a big difference between software testing and test development compensation?

In fact, the salary in the software industry is still related to skills. The stronger the skills, the higher the salary will be. So salary and prospects are determined based on your ability development.

For example, today's Toutiao recruitment salary is 20-40K, and it can still be discussed; if Ali P6+ has stocks, then the salary is hard to imagine. The ability to get back to business determines money. So improve your skills and set different goals according to different stages.

If you do testing, you only do functional testing, and you only want to rely on the number of years, really, don’t think about high wages.

There is a friend around, who is a front-end, and told me that I want to switch to testing. I asked the reason. She said that it’s because testing doesn’t require typing code. I told her that as long as you don’t think about salary, you don’t need to test. Type the code.

But for those high-paying tests, who knows how to code? The salary gap is not only due to a gap in thinking, but also a gap in skill level. Do you know how to perform performance testing, automated testing, and do you need to only rely on working years to find a job?

Sounds sad, right? But if you can do automated testing and performance testing now, it is really easy to find 10k+ jobs.

If you can only test functionally, you will retreat from the interviewer. Because you don't know what to do, even if you have been exposed to automated testing, but you are not good at it, you are doing the most basic tasks of automation.

So it's not that the salary of testing is low, but that most of the testing is actually without technology. It’s easy to transfer from development to test, but would you try to transfer from test to development?

It's not the difference between testing and development at all, but the difference in personal technical ability. If you have been doing functional testing, and to be honest, in three to five years, the gap will only grow wider with those who do technology.

The above only represent my personal opinion. If you need a learning video for on-the-job promotion, you can also send me a private message. I will prepare a learning kit and a collection of interview skills for you. If you don’t want to stay in the same position and just watch your colleagues get promoted and raise their salary, you must improve your skills daily.
