- kwallet-pam is not compatible with GnuPG keys, so KDE Wallet must use
blowfish
encryption. - The selected KWallet password must be the same as the current user 's password.
- KWallet will not automatically unlock when the account uses automatic login.
- The wallet to be automatically unlocked must be named
kdewallet
(this is the default name). Any wallet with other names will not be automatically unlocked. - If the desktop environment uses KDE , it is recommended to turn off the Close when last application stops using it option in KDE Wallet settings to prevent the wallet from being closed every time it is used (such as obtaining the WiFi password).
- It may be necessary to delete the wallet created by default first—that is, delete all stored password entries.
- If kwallet Migration Assistant asks for a password after every login, please rename or delete the
~/.kde4/share/apps/kwallet
folder.
Install the kwallet-pam package to provide compatible modules for PAM .
Optionally install kwalletmanager to use KWallet management tools. This tool can be used to create an blowfish
encrypted KDE Wallet, while providing other settings not provided by kcm-module .
Tip: The alternative is to use KWalletManager and set an empty Kwallet password, so that you can avoid the need to enter a password to unlock the wallet. Just leave both boxes blank when Change Password... But in this case, unauthorized access to the wallet cannot be prevented. Therefore, it is highly recommended to turn on the Prompt when an application accesses a wallet option in Access Control to avoid unauthorized access.
