VoLTE, that is, voice over LTE, means that voice services are transmitted directly through the 4G LTE network without the need for 2G / 3G networks. VoLTE calls have short connection time and high call quality. Compared with VoIP network phone, VoLTE video call is more smooth and stable. In layman's terms, VoLTE is actually using data traffic to make calls, which is similar to VoIP network phones such as WeChat voice, FaceTime, Skype, etc., but VoLTE takes a dedicated channel on the mobile data network and is based on the IP multimedia subsystem The voice service is not based on the traditional IP network, but is built on the operator's network, so VoLTE itself can be controlled and managed by the operator, and the voice call service is the highest priority of the entire LTE network. The VoIP network phone is based solely on the best-effort Internet. Therefore, VoLTE has the advantages of better call quality, stronger stability (QoS), and no traffic fees.
