Differential Gain and Differential Phase
This problem was encountered when I was choosing an analog video amplifier chip. At that time, I didn’t understand what this parameter of the amplifier meant. Now I know it, and it’s recorded here for your reference.
Differential gain is the percentage change in color saturation when brightness changes. Differential phase is the change in hue (phase of color) when brightness changes. In an ideal system, the saturation or hue of a color should not change when the brightness changes. Therefore, ideal dG and dP values should be zero. However, in real systems, the dG and dP values are not zero, and the smaller the values, the better. The unit of measurement for dG is percentage (%) and the unit of measurement for dP is degrees.
