专家委的成立将对我院承担的国家重大研究课题、重要平台体系建设、核心技术攻关、产业发展政策等方面，提供科学性、前瞻性、战略性、创新性的决策支持和技术指导，形成政产学研用相结合的协同创新开放式研究模式，更好服务于国家工业互联网创新发展战略。
专家委共聘请35位两院院士，58位工业互联网相关领域知名专家学者。专家委设为顾问组和专题组。顾问组由两院院士组成，专题组由四个专题组组成，由主任委员，副主任委员，四个专题组长组织专家开展工作。
根据工作需要，不断完善专家委的设置和工作内容。
