Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a visual modeling language, mainly used for analysis, design and implementation of software-based systems, and the modeling process . UML-defined, it provides a rich set of symbols, so that the language is suitable for different types of systems, domains, and processes. However, as a general-purpose modeling language, UML may not be able to fully meet the specific problem domain. The introduction of UML extension mechanism is designed to solve this problem.

In the UML extension mechanism that enables you to customize and extend the UML semantics, the language is more suited to a particular problem domain. You can create a new model element type of prejudice by creating UML derived from an existing class. You can use the tag to add and define domain-specific properties for the new and existing UML types. Value tag called flag value.

Visual Paradigm support profiles, stereotypes and tagged values. The focus of this tutorial is to tag value. You'll see how to add and define the type of tag to the UML model elements, so that modelers use. You will also learn how to enter values during modeling, and how to display tag values on the chart. We will draw the order processing system UML activity diagram to demonstrate the use of the default tag value.

Define a default tag value

  1. Select Project> New from the application toolbar, create a new project. In the New Project window, enter Order Processing as the project name, and then click Create Blank Project.

  2. From the application toolbar, select "Window"> "Configure"> "Configure default tag value ...." This will "mark configure the default value" window displays.

  3. Other symbols are listed on the left side of the original modeling language defined by UML, BPMN, SysML and Visual Paradigm supports. You can select the type and add a default tag value, add your property to the symbol of the type of support. Let's try to use UML operation. In the "Configure Default Tagged Values" in the upper left corner of the window, enter the "Action" as the search text.

  4. Select "Action" from the list.

  5. Now, you can add your own properties by adding tags to the UML operation. When you create operating Later, you can mark your input created here. Suppose we want to associate each UML operation with a Web form. Add tags Form-ID, a reference to the corresponding Web form. Click the lower right corner of the "Add", then select "Text" from the popup menu.

In addition to text markup, you can also add other types of marks, such as allowing the model elements of model elements flag as a reference value and allow true or false as the value of the Boolean flag and so on.

  6. Form-ID tag as the input name.

  7. We assume that the ID has FRM- as a prefix. We can be specified as the default value for the tag, so when you create without having to enter FRM operation.

Tag value input

Using the Operation create an event. Enter the ID has been created for each form of operation.

  4. Open the "tag value" page.
