Industrial Phosphoric Acid Industry Analysis: Research on China’s Market Capacity and Consumption Development

Industrial phosphoric acid is mainly used in electroplating industry, pharmaceutical industry, phosphate industry and metallurgical industry. Phosphoric acid vapor has a strong corrosive effect on the skin, and workers should pay attention to protecting respiratory organs and skin. It is expected that industrial grade monoammonium phosphate will maintain a tight supply market for a certain period of time, and its market price is expected to remain relatively high.

Pure industrial phosphoric acid is a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid or rhombic crystals, odorless, and has a very sour taste; commercially available phosphoric acid content is mostly 85%, which is a colorless, transparent or slightly light-colored, thick liquid.

Industrial grade monoammonium phosphate is mainly made from phosphate rock, sulfuric acid, ammonia and other raw materials through extraction, filtration, neutralization, concentration, crystallization, separation, drying and other steps. Industrial phosphoric acid is mainly used in fields such as quick-acting compound fertilizers, high-end compound fertilizer raw materials, fire-fighting dry powder fire extinguishing agent ingredients, and lithium iron phosphate precursor raw materials.

Phosphoric acid is packed in polyethylene plastic barrels, and the mouth of the barrel must be tightly closed with an inner cover and an outer cover. Net weight per barrel: 25, 30, 35kg, 330kg. When users have special requirements, supply and demand will be negotiated. There should be obvious signs on the packaging indicating: product name, specifications, net weight, and "corrosive substances" sign. Should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. When using high-concentration phosphoric acid in cold winter areas, attention should be paid to thermal insulation, preventing freezing, and preventing container rupture and leakage. Do not store or transport together with alkalis, toxic substances and other corrosive substances. During transportation, protect against rain and scorching sun exposure. Please handle with care when loading and unloading, and violent impact is strictly prohibited to prevent the packaging container from breaking.

In the reform of production technology, the apparent consumption of industrial phosphoric acid in China is between 1.5 million tons/year and 2 million tons/year, with annual exports of 300,000-500,000 tons/year. In addition to phosphate fertilizers, The second largest variety in the downstream phosphorus chemical industry. There are two production methods for industrial phosphoric acid: wet method and thermal method. Thermal phosphoric acid uses yellow phosphorus as raw material, and obtains phosphoric acid through phosphorus pentoxide and hydration. Since thermal phosphoric acid uses high-energy-consuming yellow phosphorus as raw material, the production cost is high, but high-purity phosphoric acid can be obtained directly. The wet phosphoric acid production process is similar to the process of producing phosphate fertilizer. The phosphate rock powder is decomposed with sulfuric acid, the crude phosphoric acid is separated by filtration, and the product phosphoric acid is obtained after concentration and purification.

According to data, China's industrial phosphoric acid production in 2019 was 2.32 million tons, of which thermal phosphoric acid production was approximately 1.22 million tons and wet phosphoric acid production was approximately 1.1 million tons. The downstream use of wet phosphoric acid is mainly used in phosphate fertilizers, Industrial grade phosphoric acid and phosphates, thermal phosphoric acid is mainly used in the downstream of electronic grade, food grade phosphoric acid and phosphates.

China's synthetic ammonia production in 2020 was 51.1713 million tons, an increase of 8.07% compared to 2019. In 2021, China's industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate production capacity is 2.285 million tons, with an additional production capacity of 430,000 tons, an increase of 18.82% compared to 2020. The compound growth rate of China's industrial grade monoammonium phosphate production capacity from 2018 to 2021 is 17.73%.

The development of domestic phosphates started later than abroad. Inorganic phosphates have been used as calcium and phosphorus supplements in animal feed since the mid-20th century. After more than ten years of fierce market competition, some phosphate production companies have been reintegrated and eliminated. Coupled with the impact of resource distribution, feed phosphate production companies have gradually developed in the direction of scale and regionalization. At present, there are more than 70 feed-grade phosphate production companies in the country. family, with a total annual production capacity of 3.6 million tons. Product varieties have also developed from the original single calcium hydrogen phosphate variety to the current three series of monocalcium, dicalcium, and tricalcium, and have developed fine feed phosphate products such as potassium, sodium, calcium, and ammonium to fully meet the needs of the feed industry. The demand for calcium and phosphorus has further promoted the maturity of the feed industry. Key enterprises in my country's feed-grade phosphate industry include Sichuan Jinnuo and Chuanheng Co., Ltd.
