When I first entered the workplace, I received an independent work task. There was no one to guide or discuss it. The leader arranged for me to make a report. He just told me what needed to be done and what the outcome would be. What should you do when faced with a job you have never done before?

At that time, this work task was still very challenging for me, because the reporting requirements were something I had never been exposed to in the previous few months of work. For me, this was a completely new thing.

What is in front of me is the work goal and the framework of the existing reports. I can only learn from the existing framework and how to imitate the existing framework to complete this work task.

When facing difficulties, people generally have two choices. One is to be intimidated by the difficulties in front of them and dare not do it or try; the other is to face the current difficulties and use them as motivation to move forward and actively solve them. This is difficult.

So, how did I do it?

I firmly believe that laziness and fear are stumbling blocks in life. Therefore, I belong to the second type. When faced with difficulties, I do not flinch or fear, and actively find ways to solve them.

1. Analyze work tasks (start-up): After receiving the work assigned by the leader, do not rush to do the work, but first analyze, analyze and establish the goals to be achieved, clarify what the results are to be achieved, and ensure that what is produced is What the leader wants to avoid going astray. In this step, I will describe the work assigned by the leader in language that I understand, and confirm with the leader to ensure that there is no error in my understanding.

2. Find resources (planning): Aiming at the work goals established in the first step, analyze what resources are needed to support it. For reporting requirements, you must first be familiar with the existing reporting framework, find a similar function, see it, learn it, and master it. The basic method to achieve this requirement.

3. Start doing things (execution): After mastering the basic method, start using this method to complete the work. If you encounter problems during the period, continue to analyze and find resources until the problem is solved. The final solution of each small problem represents a work of final completion.

4. Closing (end): After completing the work, do not rush to hand over the work. First confirm whether the result of the work is consistent with the goal to be achieved. After doing an inspection and confirming that there are no problems, go to the leader and report the work. Remember, if you don’t check it yourself after finishing the work, then after the delivery, the leader discovers the problem, and then rework it, this will appear very unprofessional.

5. Summarize experience and lessons (reflection): After completing a job, especially a job that has not been touched before, you must summarize it, recall the problems encountered in the process, record how to solve the problems, and form your own knowledge accumulation. Only by making frequent summaries can we go further.

I followed the above method and completed the work in more than a week, and was affirmed by the leader. In this process, I accumulated a set of effective report development methods. The most important thing is that I have more confidence in myself and will be more energetic in my future work. In the future, when I encounter such work tasks, I can handle them easily and my work efficiency is extremely high.
