Quirky 8.2 has been released, a sister project to Puppy  Linux  , a Linux distribution created with a custom tool called Woof.

The new version, Quirky 8.2, runs on 64-bit x86 computers and mainly provides incremental improvements over previous 8.x versions.

Quirky Linux 8.2 x86_64 is codenamed 'Xerus' and is built using Ubuntu 16.04.2 binary packages, so Xerus is compatible with all Ubuntu repositories.

Quirky fork from Puppy Linux, the main difference is that it has a "full installation" function, special snapshot and restore functions, and the ability to upgrade through service packs.

This release also contains many architectural improvements and package upgrades, including new packages for JWMDesk, UrxvtControl and Take-a-Shot.

In addition, there are changes in the application program, VLC abandoned Xine, Linux Kernel was upgraded to 4.1.1 and SeaMonkey was upgraded to version 2.48b1.
