AIGC supports Cocos, how many steps are needed for game development?


Recently, WN 2023, a well-known B2B conference in the game industry, was successfully held in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey. The conference invited game developers, media, publishers, distribution platforms and other industry decision makers from all over the world to discuss the future development trend of the game industry, further expand business, and look for new partners around the world. Cocos was invited Attend this conference. During the conference, Cocos Ecological Operations Director Sun Chenyang gave a wonderful theme sharing on the theme of Cocos and AIGC.


Many developers have created very successful games using Cocos. Today I mainly share the help and possibilities that the combination of Cocos and AIGC can bring to game development.

Application of AIGC in game development



First, we can use Midjourney to quickly generate icons of various styles, such as the sci-fi style in the picture above. Midjourney can generate different types of equipment and weapon icons in the same style, and developers can save nearly 70% of the time in the icon design stage.


Secondly, we can also use AIGC to generate skill icons in stickman-type action games. Developers can simply generate a large number of Kagemura-style skills in a short period of time, and simply add different types of magic elements to generate more skills.



Using AIGC to generate buildings for ink painting-style games, developers can generate 50 buildings for a large scene of 50,000 square meters in a week. The game developed its first MVP in two weeks, an 80% time saving compared to the previous process.


Finally, in terms of 3D character creation, Cocos is currently cooperating with Deemos. By using Deemos to create head and skeleton animations, modify materials and animations in the editor, and implement different cases in multiple templates.

The video is a case where by describing the appearance of a character through natural language in Cocos Creator, we can quickly generate a character with skeletal bindings, and add this character to an online showroom template.


AI capabilities are fully improved, Cocos GameGPT is on the way
