The data exchange between ordinary PLCs is through PROFIBUS or PROFINET protocol to ensure data security. However, the PROFIsafe protocol is loaded on the PROFIBUS or PROFINET protocol layer, and more verification mechanisms are added to the data, so the reliability is higher.
