1、Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and Terminus jointly established a research center to create a world-leading innovation consortium. On June 27, the "Digital World" Joint Research Center was officially inaugurated. This research center jointly established by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and Terminus aims to promote the breakthrough and implementation of major scientific research projects in the field of artificial intelligence Internet of Things (AIoT) The application will be based on Terminus' AIoT application scenarios around the world, fully integrate the world's top scientific research strength of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and promote key scientific research projects including the construction of the ubiquitous intelligent Internet of Things middle platform architecture. 2、The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) has been approved by the Ministry of Education to add two master programs. According to the information platform of the Ministry of Education’s Chinese-foreign cooperative education supervision work, recently, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) has been approved to add two master’s programs-the Master of Science in Big Data Intelligence and the Master of Science in Technology and Policy. It is understood that the two newly added programs belong to overseas master's degree education. After the graduate students complete their studies and meet the graduation requirements, they can obtain a master's degree certificate from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. 3、Five professors from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology appeared at the Summer Davos Forum to share cutting-edge views. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was invited to participate in the 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (also known as the Summer Davos Forum) held in Tianjin for three consecutive days (June 27-29), which was unveiled by Premier Li Qiang. The theme of this year's forum is "Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the World Economy". As the only university in Hong Kong invited to participate, five HKUST professors shared their unique insights in the fields of artificial intelligence, metaverse, neuroelectronics and emerging technologies in different themed sessions. 4、Liu Li, Assistant Professor of Information Hub of HKUST (Guangzhou), was selected for the 2023 Tencent AI Lab Rhino-Bird Special Research Program. Recently, the list of selected projects for the 2023 Tencent AI Lab Rhino-Bird Special Research Program was announced. The project "Cued Speech Multimodal Pose Generation Research Based on Prior Representation Diffusion Model" led by Liu Li, Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Information Hub of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) 》Successfully selected into the project list. It is understood that this year's Tencent AI Lab Rhino-Bird Special Research Program has received applications from 194 scholars from 85 universities, of which scholars from top universities such as 985 accounted for more than 88%, and the selection rate was only about 11%. 5. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University jointly organized the first Bauhinia Forum to promote the innovation and development of computer science.
