5. The team of Professor Wu Jiaying from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic team revealed the structure-activity relationship between the surface and interface properties of organic photovoltaic donors and device performance. The research team revealed the disorder-induced energy transport properties of the D/A interface to enhance the polaron recombination resistance and reduce the back charge transfer to form a triplet state, thereby improving the fill factor of organic photovoltaic devices. Combined with the synthetic flexibility of organic molecules, this will revolutionize future device optimization and allow more cost-effective strategies to be chosen from numerous avenues, thereby facilitating the realization of market standards. The research results were recently published in "Energy and Environmental Science".
