How to make Revit export FBX model with standard materials?

I used Revit to export the fbx format model for the first time. After exporting the model, I found that the model material was lost. After searching online, I didn’t find out what the specific reason was, but I found a solution: install the naviswork plug-in in Revit, and then export the nwc format from Revit file, use Navisworks Manage to convert nwc to fbx, and the converted FBX model will have materials.

Naviswork download address: /products/navisworks/3d-viewers. (Revit must install the naviswork plug-in to export files in nwc format)

Recommendation: Use the NSDT scene designer  to quickly build a 3D scene.

Revit export method of fbx file with material

1. Revit opens the model, taking the model that comes with Revit as an example.

2. Export the data in nwc format. This export option will only be available after naviswork is installed. Sometimes it may not be available here, and it will appear in the additional module.

3. Use naviswork to open the nwc file.

4. Then export the fbx format file in naviswork.

5. Double-click the fbx file, win10 comes with an fbx opener.

Compared with the fbx format exported directly from revit, the effect is still ok.

The above is the operation demonstration process of exporting the fbx file with materials from the Revit model, you can follow the tutorial to operate, it is very simple!
