3DCAT: Mr. Zhong, please introduce Huizhong Technology to you. What kind of opportunity did you create Huizhong Technology? What are the advantages and positioning of Huizhong Technology in the Metaverse industry?

Zhong Kai : Hello everyone, I am Zhong Kai, the general manager of Huizhong Technology. The full name of Huizhong Technology is Guangdong Huizhong Information Technology Co., Ltd., which was established in 2003 and is an old technology company. Now the company has branches in Guangzhou, Foshan, Nansha and Zhongshan in the Greater Bay Area, forming a diamond-shaped layout.

Since 2003, we have been providing system integration services for the three major operators and central enterprises such as China Southern Airlines, so we have accumulated a lot of experience in government ICT needs. We then carried out a VR visualization digital twin project for the government.

After Facebook changes its name to Meta in 2021, these technologies are collectively referred to as the Metaverse. Since we have accumulated a lot of previous experience in this field, we have carried out content innovation and extension in the field of metaverse.

3DCAT: Huizhong Technology's business covers a very wide range, covering the government, enterprises and consumers in an all-round way. Could Mr. Zhong share the projects that impressed you the most in these three directions?

Zhong Kai: For the government, enterprises and consumers, we generally abbreviate ToG, ToB and ToC.

On the government side, we are quite impressed. We are headquartered in Guangzhou, so we did the metaverse project of the International Biological Island Government Park in Huangpu District, Guangzhou . The area is 1.83 square kilometers. Our full 3D reconstruction can be regarded as a benchmark project for Guangzhou as an international city and Israel's genetic engineering. What is special here is that on this island, there are many unmanned buses and vehicles, and it is a demonstration island of Guangzhou's unmanned and digitalization. So we are very impressed with this project. It integrates most of the unmanned devices of the Internet of Things, and we have done the docking.

On the enterprise side, what we have done more is the Dongguan Cultural Purchasing Festival . Since the procurement festival is a cultural event that integrates the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, we have attracted some companies that need to seek investment. These businesses showcase their content on the Metaverse platform. The Purchasing Festival has also been praised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a tourism product procurement meeting. We think it is relatively successful. It is characterized by holding an exhibition on an aircraft carrier, and it is also a relatively large benchmark for technologically empowered cultural tourism.

For the consumer side, what we are more interested in and deeply understand is the Guangfu Temple Fair on Beijing Road . This is a 21-year-old brand located in the Beijing Road Pedestrian Street in the Millennium Commercial City of Guangzhou. We have specially set up a VR on-site area for children and consumers, so that they can learn about Guangzhou's intangible cultural heritage, such as Guangzhou olive carving and Guangzhou embroidery. By breaking the limitation of space, children can immerse themselves in the world of Guangzhou culture. They can not only play games, but also understand the culture of Guangzhou in games. Therefore, we think this project is very successful.

We will produce the first to third phases of the Guangfu Temple Fair from 21 to 23, and then there will be a fourth phase in 2024. We will continue to update the metaverse space to make it an extension of the government's digital sandbox. For consumers, such an entrance will not change and change frequently, which is also very simple and very suitable for consumers to experience.

3DCAT: The production of metaverse-related content requires a lot of technology and creativity. How does Huizhong Technology maintain its ability to innovate and meet customer needs?

Zhong Kai: We communicate more with owners and customers to understand their needs, and interact and integrate with our 3D team and development team in terms of needs . For example, for the restoration of the olive carving, we thought that the 1:1 restoration was too simple, because the olive carving is small, so we enlarged it by 20 times and presented the details in a better way. This is our advantage in communication ability. In addition, in terms of presentation, we are more willing to listen to users' needs and difficulties encountered, and we are very attentive to meeting with the team to consider issues in this regard.

3DCAT: What are the development strategies and plans of Huizhong Technology in the future?

Zhong Kai : In the past, Huizhong Technology mainly focused on the project integration of the government, central enterprises and state-owned enterprises.

In the field of Metaverse, Huizhong has found some better entry points. We believe that cultural tourism, digital cultural tourism and exhibitions are our key development directions this year. We will launch standardized exhibition products and cultural tourism products, so that more users can participate in the development of the metaverse in a low-code way , and can quickly replicate without waiting for our professional team to complete large-scale projects. This is a key direction for Huizhong this year.

04 AIGC will assist the creation of metaverse applications and improve the efficiency of creation

3DCAT: At present, AIGC content such as ChatGPT is very popular. How do you think this kind of AIGC content will be combined with Metaverse content? How to help your team create better? Will it change your team structure and personnel composition?

Zhong Kai : Yes, indeed we have also paid attention to OpenAI. It is a relatively new sector in the metaverse, and it is also part of the metaverse and artificial intelligence. In the digital cultural tourism scenario, customer service is very critical. If OpenAI's AIGC technology is used, it can meet passengers' questions and plans, and speed up the promotion and replication of the Metaverse.

In addition, for our development team, the content and code generated by AIGC have reached a very high level in terms of 3D modeling and basic writing. If our art team, 3D team, and development team are connected to the AIGC interface, the basic code can be described, which will greatly improve efficiency.

A team that could only work on one project can now work on 3 or 4, or more optimized projects at the same time. Although currently AIGC cannot replace some innovative operations, we think it should be embraced and better used.

Zhong Kai : In fact, we used to have a lot of headaches. We have selected many suppliers to do cloud rendering, because we think that the final architecture of Metaverse is the massively concurrent architecture of cloud rendering. Zhong Kai : In fact, we have understood this technology for a long time. At that time, the earliest enlightenment may have been watching movies like Ready Player One in 2018 , which is a highly complete Metaverse world.

We learned some concepts at that time, that is, a large number of cloud rendering and cloud computing have replaced traditional terminal computing . Zhong Kai: As a basic cloud rendering provider, 3DCAT provides us with optimized support in all aspects of hardware. As a content provider, Huizhong Technology needs to focus on optimizing content presentation and make extensive use of cloud rendering services.

At present, the metaverse technology is not mature enough and needs a lot of optimization. In this process, we need to complete the construction of Metaverse 1.0 from 0 to 1, which is already a huge workload.
