So how do we add the IDM plug-in to the browser? Here we take Chrome as an example.
- Suffix file installation and use
- After downloading the software from the official website, click Install. After installation, a shortcut to Internet Download Manager will appear on the desktop. Right-click to find "Open file location" (here, take win10 as an example) (as shown in Picture 1).

- After entering the Internet Download Manager list, find the file with the suffix (.crx) in the folder. The folder contains two files with the suffix .crx. We choose the file with the suffix (IDMGCExt.crx) (Picture 3)

- After completing the above operations, we open the Chrome browser and find "..." in the upper right corner, and find "Extensions" in more tools, as shown in (Picture 4).

- After entering the "Extension Program" interface, drag the IDMGCExt.crx file into it (as shown in picture 5)

- When the "IDM Integration Module" extension appears in the "extension interface", it means that it has been installed successfully, and we only need to click the start button to enable it. (As shown in picture 6)

If you don't need to use the "IDM Integration Module" extension, just click the close button on the "extension interface". The gray mark means that it has been closed. If you don't want to use it, just click to remove it. (Picture 7)

- Developer mode installation method (the first one is recommended for ordinary users)

- Open the folder where "Internet Download Manager" is located, find the 'IDMGCExt.crx' suffix file again, rename and change the .crx suffix to .zip compressed file (as shown in picture 9)

- Error handling
- If it prompts that the installation error or the version is too low, it can be repaired by re-downloading the software from the official website
- If you are prompted that "Advanced Browser Integration" is not enabled or the browser you are using cannot capture information, you can change it in the "Internet Download Manager" download option settings (as shown in Figure 11). If there is no browser you are using in the options, you can click "Add Browser" option to add.
