【Summary of 6 solutions】Win10 deleted desktop files need to be refreshed to disappear how to solve

20210228 update

The various methods I wrote here and there didn't solve my problem. I don't know where the problem lies. I have given up and my obsessive-compulsive disorder has been straightened out.
Here is a summary of solutions written by a foreign website.

For your reference

Recently, desktop files have been deleted or renamed in the laptop, but the file will not be updated automatically. The specific situation is that the file will be displayed again after deletion. After renaming, the old file name and the new file name will appear at the same time, and will only disappear after right-clicking to refresh. But it will show again after a while.

The detailed computer system version is as follows:

Solution:
I searched a lot on the Internet, and there are two mainstream methods:
one is to directly modify the registry and modify the UpdateMode key value;
the other is to create a new text file, change the suffix to reg, and update the UpdateMode .
The above two methods are all through modifying the registry, nothing more than a direct modification and an indirect editing.
It is still quite risky to directly modify the registry of the genuine operating system, so these two methods have not been tried, and are not recommended here.

Recommended solution:
Press Win+R to open the "Run" window, enter ie4uinit -show, and press Enter. Pro test is available.
The specific repair mechanism is unknown.
But this method calls the ie4uinit executable file that comes with the system, which is much more reliable than changing the registry by yourself.

UPDATE: This method does not completely solve the problem.
