1. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Neighborhood Map Data Joint Laboratory was officially established. In the future, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and Chuanglin Technology will conduct in-depth research on cutting-edge graph technologies such as neural network computing frameworks for trillion-scale large graphs, sequential graph processing of massive data, distributed native graph database transactions, and performance optimization. Cooperation, give full play to the advantages of both schools and enterprises, improve the level of domestic technology research, and promote the collaborative innovation and development of industry-university-research. 2、Professor Lin Jianhua from Peking University was a guest at the Mingzhi Education Forum of HKUST (Guangzhou) to discuss higher education in the era of open knowledge. This issue of Mingzhi Education Forum invites Professor Lin Jianhua, director of the Future Education Management Research Center of Peking University, as the guest speaker. Professor Lin was the president of Peking University, Chongqing University and Zhejiang University. The theme of this lecture is "Higher Education in the Era of Knowledge Openness" ". Professor Lin Jianhua concluded in his lecture that in the era of open knowledge, if we want to run future universities and future education well, schools must open up the "three major boundaries". 3. Timothy PAGE, a professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, won the 2023 Guggenheim Award. Since its inception in 1925 by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, this prestigious honor has honored more than 18,000 distinguished scientists, scholars in the social sciences and humanities, as well as writers and artists of all kinds. Billion dollars in prize money, including Nobel Prize winners, members of various National Academies, Pulitzer Prizes, Fields Medals, Turing Awards, Bancroft Prizes, National Book Awards and other internationally recognized honorees. 4. The unveiling ceremony of the Theme Laboratory of the Quantum Science and Technology Center of HKUST (Guangzhou) was successfully held. The construction of the Quantum Science and Technology Center lasted 5 months. It was jointly led by the Advanced Materials Department of the Functional Hub of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the professor of the Department of Physics of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. It was officially put into use in early April. The Quantum Science and Technology Center is oriented to carry out scientific and applied research in the frontier key areas of quantum disciplines, and is committed to promoting the deep integration of disciplines, promoting major breakthroughs in key quantum fields, and helping to achieve high-level technological self-reliance. 5、Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) is about to hold the first 3MT® Speech Competition of the whole school. 3MT® (Three Minute Thesis) Speech Contest is a prestigious international academic exchange event.
