1 What is a network interface card?

A Network Interface Card (NIC for short), also known as a network adapter, is a device that connects a computer to a local area network. As long as it is connected to a LAN, a network card needs to be installed. A network card mainly includes two layers at the bottom of OSI , the physical layer and the data link layer. The physical layer chip is called PHY, and the data link layer chip is called MAC controller.
