1. SATA disk and SATA interface

Disks using SATA ports are also called serial disks. The SCSI interface has the advantages of application range management, multi-tasking, large bandwidth, low CPU usage, and hot swapping. Because of the high price, it is difficult to popularize like IDE disks. Therefore, SCSI disks in the early years were mainly used. in mid- to high-end servers and high-end workstations .

3. SAS disk and SAS interface

SAS is a new generation of SCSI technology, which is the same as the popular serial ATA (stat) disk. Both use serial technology to achieve higher transmission speed and improve internal space by shortening the connection cable. The design of this interface is to improve the performance, availability and scalability of the storage system, and to provide compatibility with Serial ATA (serial ATA abbreviated as stat) disks.

SAS technology and SAS disks were born on the basis of people's desire to take advantage of the common advantages of STAT and SCSI interfaces. 4. Fibre Channel

The English spelling of Fibre Channel is Fibre Channel. Like the SCSI interface, Fibre Channel was not an interface technology designed and developed for disks at first. In the disk system, the Fibre Channel disk was developed to improve the speed and flexibility of the multi-disk storage system, and its appearance greatly improved the communication speed of the multi-disk system. Mainly used for high-end workstations, servers, mass storage subnets, etc. Hot plugging, high bandwidth, long-distance connectivity, and a large number of connected devices are the main characteristics of Fibre Channel.
