Is education important to learn UI design?

Regarding education, in fact, not only designers, but all walks of life can find examples of high and low education, but these really have nothing to do with individuals, others are others, and ultimately depends on your mentality and strengths, and the environment of each person is also different. Same.

Designer ability is more than a diploma. :

It's like there is a UI designer in my office . After graduating from junior high school, he became a prosperous company in a company. He can deal with difficult bosses and customers. He said: what can be done can be done, and no amount of UI designers can do it. Most of the thesis diplomas are higher than his academic qualifications. But few are stronger than him.

The word "educational degree", when you have worked in a company for many years, after the ability is improved, you can boldly say that a diploma is useless. When you're looking for a job, no one cares about education. But as someone fresh out of school, you have to face it.

A degree is just a testimony that you come out of school that you have passed all the courses and disciplines required. Without a diploma, you can also pass the self-examination, and the improvement of distance education will make the other party interested. But education is a bonus for designers. Frankly speaking, it will be better if you have it, and it may not be bad if you don't have it.

 From two viewpoints:

1. Discussion: Education is important

1 ) As far as I know, foreign and state-owned enterprises require designers to have a bachelor's degree or above. Other companies are generally junior colleges, and works speak.

2 ) From the point of view of thinking, excellent schools produce excellent talents, and the visual design of CAMC and Gome will not be bad. The level of interaction designers from high-quality universities of science and technology will not be too different. When you are nervous in an interview, your boss is also nervous, and everyone is afraid of being fooled. In the design field these days, misappropriation is rampant. It is better to look at the background of a famous school. It is relatively safe. At least the college entrance examination is difficult to fool.

3 ) From personal experience, for designers from famous schools, practical education brings not the improvement of design ability, but the excellent students who learn from each other. From the later stage, the good fortune of design depends on your degree of intention. If you don’t care, your life will definitely not be much easier than you have learned well. Design is the easiest to graduate, and the teacher will basically give you kindness.

2. Education is not important

1 ) Educational qualifications are generally well-known talents in the design industry: Token Hu, etc. Experienced excellent companies, excellent partners, coupled with their own efforts to achieve today's achievements. Design is a practical study. It is true that education is only a threshold. Practical experience is particularly important, and you can learn more. I very much agree with this. There are not many cases of foreign designers who have not gone to university for a long time, but they have one thing in common. They are very passionate about design, very specific, and very hardworking.

2 ) Generally speaking, the design of the enterprise is not based on the high-level design department. It is necessary to find a person who can draw and use it. It is enough to have a degree, and it cannot be used as a meal.

Summarize

Education is both a guarantee and a limitation. As the old saying goes, "the apprentice leads the door, and the practice is in the individual ." The same is true for design. There is no difference between the design and the professional class. . Opportunity, talent, and hard work are all indispensable conditions for a good designer. The quality of a designer cannot be judged by academic qualifications arbitrarily. The designer's ability to speak with his works is the kingly way.
