FCPX is a powerful video editing software launched by Apple. It can read videos and add transition effects. So how to adjust the transition in the timeline of Final Cut Pro? The editor brings you the fcpx transition adjustment Tutorial, I hope it helps everyone!
Change the length of
transition time Move transition
Moving a transition is actually scrolling through the edits below the transition, thereby adding content to one underlying segment while removing content from another segment. The total length of the project is not affected. You can only move the transition when the segment to be extended has enough media margin.
Select a transition in the Final Cut Pro timeline.
Drag the transition trim icon located in the upper center area of the transition.
This will scroll through the edits below the transition, and one of the clips will be extended and the other clip will be shortened. The number displayed above the trim icon shows the number of frames you scroll the transition to the left (negative number) or right (positive number).
Trim the clip below the
transition The transition includes icons that facilitate trimming the left or right clip without affecting the transition.
Select a transition in the Final Cut Pro timeline.
Drag one of the trim icons in the upper left or upper right area of the transition.
[Note] You may need to zoom in on the timeline to see the trim icon.
Dragging the trim icon at the top left will adjust the start point of the right clip, while dragging the trim icon at the top right will adjust the end point of the left clip. The number displayed shows the number of frames you added (negative number) or subtracted (positive number) to the duration of the clip. Trimming a clip does not affect the length of the transition, but it does affect the length of the project.
