In the previous article, we learned about the FLOOR function (rounding down), today we will take a look at Excel’s MROUND function, the main function of MROUND function is to round up a multiple of a specified value
This article introduces the formula syntax and usage of the MROUND function in Microsoft Excel.
MROUND function function
The MROUND function is used to return the value of the parameter rounded up according to the specified base
MROUND function format
MROUND(number,multiple)
Translated into the vernacular format:
MROUND(目标单元格,要保留位数)
Parameter Description
number: Specify the value or the cell reference where the value is located
multiple: is the base number to round the number number
Precautions for using the MROUND function:
*If the remainder of the number number divided by the base is greater than or equal to half of the base, the function MROUND rounds away from zero
Example of MROUND function:
Existing batch of goods need to be boxed, how many boxes and the remainder are needed?
Enter in cell E12:
=MROUND(C12,D12)
Enter in cell F12:
=C12-E12
Enter in cell G12:
=E12/D12
Then select cell E12:G12 and fill the formula downward, as shown below:
