I have two books, and I have been recruiting for 1 year to share the whole process and experience of Andrew Gang’s thoughts!

This is a late interview, why? Because I have joined Byte for almost a month now. It was supposed to share the interview experience that took almost a year from preparation to offer within a period of time before I joined the company after I left my last company. But emmmmm... Are you lazy...^ _ ^

After 3 months, I lost 10 pounds

The purpose of writing this article is, on the one hand, to organize and review interview knowledge and share interview knowledge and experience; on the other hand, I hope to give you who are also ready to look for a job and change jobs, some "learning lessons".

Three Provinces

**First introduce myself: I am a double-featured, an ordinary second undergraduate, ** after graduation, I entered a startup company to do Android development related work. To be honest, since the internship in this company, in two years, I feel that I have not made any progress. Although, my colleagues always say that there is still a lot of progress, but I haven't found it. Why do I feel this way?

  • Work: lack of initiative, more passive to complete tasks. I still work with the mentality of a student, without changing my student status. Lack of communication, leaders do not know their work status and progress.

  • Life: I play games most of the time after get off work, especially after playing for a long time, I feel a sense of emptiness and feel guilty for wasting a lot of time. I decided not to play tomorrow, but after a few days, I started playing again, and kept repeating this way.
(Friends who feel the same, please like, please hug!)

Until the end of last year, the expected "doom" came, and the leaders had an interview. As you can imagine, the year-end performance was cool. I also suddenly realized that although the year-end bonus was gone, under reflection, I did have a lot of problems. At that time, I had the idea of leaving. However, who would have thought that we started working from home because of the epidemic that broke out at the beginning of the year. At that time, I heard that today's employment market was not good, so I never thought about preparing for an interview, and never thought about solving my "problem" first.

Later, I got iritis due to excessive use of eyes when working at home (to the boss, in fact, staying up late to play games), which has affected the office. Because of this, it takes about a month. By the time the eyes have almost recovered, it has been around May, and the company has begun to resume work.

In a hurry

By the end of June, I sorted out my resume and tried to invest in a few companies.

The first interview company was Sina Weibo. I was really naked, so I can't be naked anymore. The interviewer's attitude is very good, and finally said, you go back and prepare. At that time, his attitude was still arrogant. In the next few days, I also met with Baidu and Homework. As you can imagine, they were all day trips.

In July, the company had a half-year performance appraisal, but the company stipulated that only B+ could participate in the promotion, which made me determined to quit. I still had a glimmer of hope that I didn't have to raise my salary. I couldn't even participate in this promotion. So began the day when I immersed myself in the interview.

**It is said that because of the epidemic, the employment market is not good. Why do some friends get good offers? When I read the interviews on the Internet, I was saying that I changed jobs after one year of work and it was difficult to find a job. **And in terms of the current market situation of Android development, if you want to find a high-paying, relatively stable and promising job, you can only enter a big factory. This also allowed me to determine my goal and enter a first-line Internet company.

So I began to prepare for the interview seriously, and it took about half a month to prepare. Starting from the self-introduction of the interview, the resume is optimized, and the resume is constantly revised and optimized during the continuous interview process, and then stay up late to brush the algorithm questions and brush the interview questions. Probably after July 15th, the resume will be resubmitted and the interview will be scheduled.

In order to accumulate interview experience, I started to invest in some small companies, such as the first one, on-site-understand the ball, the entire interview process went smoothly and went directly to the department CTO. What made me the happiest in the first interview was not to reach the end, but an algorithm question that I had brushed before, which happened to be asked, and I felt very fulfilling. Later, they met again, such as Chinese Future, SF Citywide Technology, and Homework Assistant.

It was almost August. At this time, the leader also found that I was not right. When he talked to me, I had a showdown with the leader. This put a lot of pressure on myself. Because most of my colleagues know that I am leaving and I have thought about it during the period, or find a small company, go to study in advance, and wait a year before coming out. However, because the technology stack and salary of the companies I met could not meet expectations, they all refused.

In August, I started to deliver to Internet companies such as Dachang, Baidu and Didi, but the results were not satisfactory. The biggest blow to me was some low-level, source code interview questions. Once asked, I didn't know where to start, because many source codes were never read. I usually think that as long as I can use it.

**There are also some other issues, such as performance optimization, which are also important aspects of major manufacturers. While regretting that I did not want to learn this in the past, I also realized that I needed to spend time to make up for this shortcoming, otherwise no matter how many interviews I went to, I would just waste precious interview opportunities.

Li Bingmao

In the next month, I read all kinds of related blog posts and materials on the Internet, brushed the real questions shared by others on Niuke and other platforms, and summarized them, and went to some medium-sized companies to "practice" to fill in the gaps. . In mid-September, I changed my mobile phone number, re-written my resume, and took advantage of the "Golden Nine Silver Ten" to vote for all major factories again.

I have received interviews from Baidu, Didi, and Job Gang. This time they all went to the second side, but they all died on the third side. I remember very clearly that there was a medical department of Baidu. I thought it was going well on three sides. I was very excited when I was lying in bed that night. I imagined that I could get an offer and couldn't sleep for a long time.

But after waiting 3-4 days, I still didn't receive a follow-up call. I was a little anxious, so I added the WeChat of three interviewers and asked about it. The result given is: failed on three sides because of insufficient preparation for some projects. Although some low-level questions were answered very well, I must have read and researched before, but there are still other candidates, and you are still very good. Class words.

To be honest, I also expected this result. However, I was still very uncomfortable and very frustrated. This also gave me a great change in my mentality for the interview. In this way, I passed through September, but I still haven't got the ideal offer. I don't know if you feel the same way.

Among these interviews, Baidu has the most interviews. There should be 10 in total, all from different departments. There are maternal and infant business units, search, Baidu app, smart applet, content strategy, medical and health business, knowledge center, etc. There are only a part of the interviews, and many of them have not had time to write.

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, everyone is planning how to go out and play, but at this time, I don't have any desire to play. Except for the interview before reviewing questions and reviewing, and perfecting the knowledge system, I don't want to do anything else.

The dust settles

After the National Day, I returned to the company, opened BOOS, and found that there were no new positions. I was still very disappointed. I feel that there is no hope, but now at the work station, I don’t want to do anything else. The leading colleagues are watching, as if they are all saying, why have you not left yet, are you too good to find a job. Of course these are my own thoughts.

I am very happy that I still received an interview later, and there is hope, hahahahaha. The interviews in October include Baidu, Homework Gang, and byte.

It's worth making people happy. After preparing for so long, I finally got the answer in this harvest season. The above three interviews all passed one after another, and got the offer. After comprehensive consideration, I chose ByteDance. Although the homework help showed sincerity, I am sorry that Byte is so attractive.

The following is the content of my rejection of the offer. I hope that everyone can experience such a result during the interview.

Hello, I have preliminarily reached an entry agreement with you before, but due to my career expectations and planning, ByteDance may be more suitable for my professional direction and future development, so I cannot join your company. I hope your company can find a more suitable one. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to your company’s work for the candidate for the position. I hope to cooperate again if I have the opportunity in the future. very sorry!

The following is the content of my resignation

Dear leaders:
Since I joined the company in July 2018, I have always enjoyed this job. I thank all the leaders for their trust, cultivation and tolerance, as well as my colleagues for their kindness, help and care. In the past two years, I took advantage of the good learning time given by the company, learned some new things to enrich myself, and increased my knowledge and practical experience.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the company's care for more than two years! But because of my personal career development, I finally chose to apply to the company for resignation, and I hope to officially leave on October 23 this year. I hope that the leaders can find a suitable person to take over my work as soon as possible. I will try my best to cooperate with the handover work to ensure the normal operation of the business and take the final responsibility to the company.
I hope the company will consider and approve my application.

Last nagging

During the period of National Day, I really didn't eat anything, and my heart was flustered. Although at the beginning, I thought about changing to another small company, as long as it was "mixed" enough, but when I thought about the hard work I put in later, I was so unwilling. Fortunately, Huang Tian finally paid off. He has been employed by Byte for almost a month now. Although he is a little different from the big factory he imagined, he is indeed given enough money, and he can obviously feel that he can learn every day. To new things, progress.

Okay, finally, I will share with you a treasure that I discovered during the preparation for the review. An architect study notes compiled by a senior byte architect. The content includes framework source code analysis, performance optimization, algorithms, NDK development, architectural project combat, etc., study notes and videos are available, this is his GitHub , interested You can go and see for yourself! For this reason, I am very grateful to the boss for sharing. If you need it, remember to give the boss a little star!

In 2021, I wish all friends can get their ideal offer!
