What is HarmonyOS?
HarmonyOS ( Hongmeng System) is not a substitute for Android or IOS operating system specifically for mobile phones , nor is it used for operating systems on PCs like Windows or MAC . So what exactly is HarmonyOS ?
HarmonyOS is a "future-oriented" distributed full-scenario (mobile office, sports health, social communication, media entertainment, etc.) smart operating system developed by Huawei. The operating system will gradually cover the “ 1+8+N ” full-scene terminal equipment, enabling consumers to conveniently and quickly control other equipment through smart phones, so as to obtain better quality of viewing, listening, feeling, and touching. Services to achieve the best user experience by operating the most comprehensive and high-quality resources through the best hardware equipment with the lowest energy consumption and the fastest speed under certain circumstances. HarmonyOS is not an operating system on a PC . In short, HarmonyOS aims to connect multiple devices to form a super system with functions, resources, and complete equipment for IoT devices.

l For application developers, HarmonyOS uses a variety of distributed technologies to make application development and implementation independent of the differences in the form of different terminal devices, reducing development difficulty and cost. This allows developers to focus on the upper-level business logic and develop applications more conveniently and efficiently.
l For device developers, HarmonyOS adopts a componentized design scheme, which can be flexibly tailored according to the resource capabilities and business characteristics of the device to meet the requirements of different types of terminal devices for the operating system.
OS system development history

With Internet technology as the core, user value-oriented, through cross-border vertical industrial chain integration, horizontal user relationship circle expansion, breaking industrial boundaries in the industrial age and subverting the traditional business ecological model, realizing a chain circle value reconstruction ecosystem In the context of the Internet ecosystem, the IoT ecosystem urgently needs a unified business model to organically coordinate scattered, separate, and independent devices or applications into a whole. HarmonyOS came into being. It is not only a unified management of the various devices of the Internet ecology, but more importantly, an overall design from the aspects of speed, performance, management, and security.
