NDI|HX2 is the next generation of efficient NDI protocol, NDI|HX2 can provide more reliable, lower latency and more flexible connections. N1, N2, E1-NDI, E2-NDI encoders have fully supported smooth upgrade to NDI|HX2 version. At the same time, both D300 decoder and MG300 media gateway support decoding NDI|HX2. Take 4K decoder as an example, how to use D300 to decode NDI|HX2 video stream, the following figure is the schematic diagram of E1-NDI encoder and D300 decoder using NDI|HX2 transmission connection:
How to add NDIHX2 video source decoding with 4K decoder?
Both the encoder and the decoder can configure the Ethernet address through DHCP or manually to realize the NDI stream transmission and decoding output to the monitor in the local area network.
1. Encoder configuration
Log in to the encoder WEB page, you can configure the NDI device name and channel name, and you can also define the group where the NDI is located (the setting includes the group setting, that is, the encoder has been upgraded to NDI|HX2). The default is a public group.
Note: The previous version of encoder product V4.3.2029 (inclusive) only supports NDI HX, and the later version will be upgraded to NDI HX2.
2. D300 decoder configuration**** There are three different ways to discover/add NDI sources for
decoding : 1) Log in to the decoder WEB page, and add NDI|HX2 video sources through automatic discovery
in the decoder page "Media"-"Discover", In the NDI Sources dialog box that pops up, you can find the NDI video sources of the public group in the same network segment. According to the device name and channel name of the NDI source, select the source that needs to be added, click "Add", and the video source will be added to the video source list.
Note: Through "Discover", you can search for all video sources in the network including Full NDI and NDI|HX2, that is, NDI sources above NDI 4.0. D300 decoding only supports decoding of NDI|HX2 video sources. For Full NDI video sources, you need to choose other NDI products of Qianshi, such as N4/N40/N3/N30.

2) Manually add NDI|HX video source of non-public group or IP across network segment
Click "NDI Sources"-"Settings" to enter the configuration dialog box. If you want to search for devices with different group names in the same subnet, fill in the specified group name (such as kiloview) in the "Group" box, and click Enter. At this time, two groups will be displayed in the "Group" box Name, and then click the "OK" button (no need to fill in the IP address), the device will search for the NDI source of the two group names at the same time. (You can also add multiple group names to search)
When you need to search for NDI sources across network segments, if the group name is a non-public group, you need to fill in the specified group name first, and then fill in the specified IP address in the "IP" field. Click the following button to add this IP address to the "manual scan address list". You can add multiple IP addresses at once to search at the same time, and then press "OK" to save.
3) Manually fill in the URL address to add the NDI|HX video source.
On the decoder page "Media"-"Add", select "NDI", fill in the corresponding parameters and save.
Name: It can be configured arbitrarily and supports the combination of Chinese and English numbers;
URL address: ndi://source IP address: port, the default port is 5961;
NDI name: source device name (channel name);
code stream: Full (master code) Stream) and Preview (sub-stream);
playback buffer: select the playback buffer according to the actual scene.
4) After correctly adding the NDI source, it will be displayed in the decoder video source column.
Drag the video source to the output box, and the decoder starts to decode and output.
