Among them, Virginia has a more competitive price than Silicon Valley. If your business is in China, you can put it on the mainland or Hong Kong. There are two main differences between the mainland and Hong Kong. All domain names placed on the mainland server need to be filed, but Hong Kong does not need it. If it is an individual, file the website The type is limited. Hong Kong does not have these restrictions. The only downside is that the prices in Hong Kong are more expensive than those in the mainland.
So in general, the region selection is based on your own business scenario, and choose the nearest region according to your own business scenario, which can make your visit faster.
After selecting the region, then we select the instance. Again, this is also selected according to your business needs. In the early stage, the newly launched website will not have a large number of visits, so I chose 1 vCPU and 1 Gib memory type. This is enough for the average small site.

Generally choose to share the basic type, which is suitable for general and entry-level computing needs of various industries, such as: small web applications, small and medium data, etc.
After choosing the basic configuration, you are choosing the operating system. This is based on the programming language used on your website. At present, it is generally divided into two camps, Windows and Linux. The Windows camp is mainly .net, and Linux is relatively speaking. Many languages such as java and php are deployed on linux. If it is Linux, generally choose the CentOS branch and choose the latest version for the version.
Finally, select the storage disk. Generally, the default selection is 40g at the beginning, and it can be dynamically increased later if it is not enough.
After choosing such a configuration, the price is about 50 or so. In addition, I also found a rule that the price of Alibaba Cloud seems to change dynamically. Sometimes at ten o'clock in the evening, the price will be much cheaper than before. For example, above me The configuration price for East China 1 District is only 36.8 yuan.
So when you choose, you can choose at night, so that you can buy a server at a lower price. Previously, I bought a server in Hong Kong at night. The price of 1 core and 1g is 49 per month, but the price of Hong Kong servers is usually around 70 .
I bought ecs mainly to install some development tools, such as mysql, redis and other new development frameworks, mainly for my own learning, because the software installed in my laptop is too bloated. For example, when I was learning elasticsearch some time ago, I built a simple api project directly on ecs to learn by myself, which is much more convenient than building on my own laptop.
In addition, if it is long-term use, I suggest you choose 3 years, because 3 years is about 50% off, which is very cost-effective. I bought it myself by directly choosing the purchase time of 3 years. The cost is 849.6 yuan, which is equivalent to saving 849.6 yuan after the discount.
